Our chosen Charity for the Hartbreaker is the truly wonderful Children's Hospice:

Children’s Hospice South West provides care in the South West for Children with life-limiting conditions. This means that these children are not expected to survive into adulthood. Our three hospices, Little Bridge House in Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in Cornwall, are very special places that help us to provide a loving and caring place for every member of every family who stay with us; a place of sanctuary, a place of fun and a place where everyone can forget their worries for a while. They can be a family again and find expert help and support when facing an uncertain and difficult future.

Children’s Hospice South West currently provides care for in excess of 400 families. Of these some come to us for palliative care, some for emergency care and many for planned respite and a rare opportunity for a break. Others will also be supported through our bereavement team after the loss of their child.

Our hospices are often filled with joy and laughter. Of course, there is no mistaking the serious work we do, but the atmosphere of the hospice isn’t what you might imagine. We do everything we can to help make the most of every moment a very sick child has with us and with their family. And that includes giving them on-to-one specialist care, having fun times through play, music, outings and crafts – simple pleasures that many of us take for granted.

Thank you for helping us to make the most of short and precious lives. To find out more please visit www.chsw.org.uk or contact your community fundraiser – This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
